Tariff increase ****s

Hello MTN, the system should work for both the parties entering into a contract not a one part only. i took a contract of a sim only because it was R199 and checking my finance i knew i would be able to afford it and now from nowhere you increase the tariffs and you claim that i was made aware of the increase that i will incur and now i can't afford the extra R10,00 that u have put on my contract, the sad part is now when i want to cancel the contract you made the terms to suit you not me

"15. Termination payments

If you breach the contract or end the contract before the initial contract period or port before the end of the initial contract period, you must pay us fees under the cancellation provisions of applicable consumer protection legislation.

By ending the contract, you will also have to pay:

the current migration fee, upgrade fee or administration fee in the price list on our website, if and when a package or price-plan migrates or is upgraded to another package; the monthly subscription up to the date it ends; but if that date is not at month end, it will be pro-rated for the last month; all usage charges up to and including the date the contract ends; all other amounts that we may be allowed to charge you up to that date, or for failing to pay before or after that date; an additional one month’s subscription; the balance of the value of the mobile device; and any collection fees and legal costs as determined on a just and equitable basis by the court. You will also have to pay us the balance of the value of your mobile device if you migrate to:

a package option with a lower mobile device subsidy than the package option you are migrating from; or a price-plan with no mobile device. "

I need a way forward because i can not keep a contract that i can not afford, because u guys have decided to increase the tariffs without my consent.

Good Day  Thank you for your post.  We haven’t increased our subscription prices over the past few years despite the challenging economic environment and the substantial investment that have been made to the network. We are dedicated to offering our customer’s best quality network and service, but to continue to deliver on this, a review of subscription pricing had to be done.   |  According to our Subscriber agreement, Mtn may amend charges from time to time and notify customers in advance. Kindly see below extract  Clause 12  :Charges
 | You voluntarily confirm that the package option or price-plan has been explained to you and that you understand and voluntarily agree to it. You voluntarily agree to accept the charges included with each package option or price-plan (either with or without a mobile device). You must pay all the applicable charges due to us at the rates detailed on our website, your package option or price-plan terms. After any promotion ends charges will revert to the standard charges. By notifying you in advance, we may amend charges from time to time and if you do not accept them, you may end the contract by notifying us, subject to clause 15 (Termination payments).   Thank you for your patronage and continued support.

Thank you for reverting back to me.

" We haven’t increased our subscription prices over the past few years despite the challenging economic environment and the substantial investment that have been made to the network" i don't see how that should alter the agreement between two parties involved.

remember that when you say that i voluntarily agreed to all the terms and condition of the contract there has to be a contact in place binding the two parties.
under Key Commitment and consumers right " a right to access and question records and information held by the service provider". i would like to believe that the statement that your Boza champions makes in the beginning of each call which states that this calls are recorded for safety and security purpose, now is the time to pull it out so that so that we can listen to what i have agreed to.

if your Boza Champion has read to me all the terms and condition on the contact i will gladly pay the additional fee of 10 Rands, but if not then it wouldn't be fair for you to adjust my fees because i did accept it. it must also made noted that i took the contact over the phone and no copy of the contractual agreement was to sent which makes that voice recording vital for this conversation and its the only binding contract in place between MTN and I.

i guess its fair that a contract must be honored by both parties. you can not say that u are increasing my tariffs yet your not increasing data, then it means that the contract its benefiting one party.

now advice me on the way forward, because from my very tight budget i can not afford to add another 10 rands for the next coming 12 months that was not part of the plan.
