System does not work, rude call centre staff, reference number with no purpose.

On Monday 27/11, went into MTN The Glen to purchase and load data on my phone and wifi ****le. The purchase of the data was seamless, facilitated by a pleasant assistant. She showed how to load the data onto my phone. Here comes the rub! The sim of the wifi ****le didn't work - although it worked a few days previous. Suggestion was to buy another sim and load data on it. This was done and it was RICAed. She tried to load the data on the sim. It was activated and she received the sim telephone number. She showed me the text that the sim would be active with the data in 15min. Upon arriving at home, no connection and no data. Tried to re-enter the pin for the data. Nothing, assumed the sim was still activating. Tried again Tuesday/Wednesday same result. Manged to get to ****arney MTN for help on Friday five days since the purchase. They checked - the data was on the sim but the sim was not yet activated. The assistant called MTN - gave me a reference number and said I should call the 171 number to push the issue. Did this a few hours later- startlingly the reference number recieved from the MTN ****arney was of no use - or so the call agent said - Who to believe MTN ****arney or the call agent???????? Got a new reference number yet again was assured the data was loaded but the sim was not yet active. Five days later????? Was assured the issue was escalated and would be resolved shortly. Called the service number this morning (Saturday) not yet working - yet again the agent was not interested in the reference number - why give the reference number if it is of no use - Bongani inssisted that the sim was active but no data was on the sim - exactly opposite of the three previous interaction - he even insinuated that possibly I was lying about the data. Was not interested in the information given the the previous call agent about the data been loaded. So at this stage no sim card working and no data and I must travel again to the MTN agent at The Glen to sort it out. The case of the missing data continues. MTN agents dont have supervisors or managers to which this could be escalated to. They are the only recourse. NOT certain why MTN feel this is acceptable. If my R260 worth of data does not appear - I will open a case of theft against MTN. I thought it was only Vodacom who stole the clients airtime and data. Apparently MTN have begun t do this aswell.

Kabelo Thank you for your reply. I have received my data. Question begs asking: How come you "gave" me 2GB of data if your records show no data was loaded? Obviously your system shows something regarding the purchase of the data- MTN would not give a random complaint data. You have failed to accept any responsibility here MTN!!!! What was no data loaded when I had purchased the data? Had someone, perhaps MTN, ****** the data like the numerous claims on hellopeter.com. The two other issues still require attention: 1. The rude call center staff 2. The ineffectiveness of your reference number system 2.1 Reference number given by Zandile @ ****arney MTN - ********** 37762 2.2 Reference number given by your call centrer: SMC/ ********** 7 Issue here: I visited two of your stores in person and called the call centre 3 times - None of these yielded any result. ONE POSTING ON HELLOPETER.COM AND I GET "GIVEN" DATA. Obviously the only way to get results is to hellopeter MTN and not resort to the degrading and embarrassing process of call center. I look forward to your reponse. Kind Regards Graham McMillan Unfortunate victim of the MTN Racket.
