Suspended services when account paid up to date
I have a broadband 2GB data contract with MTN since 2012, last year I renewed my contract and I have been paying a consistent amount of R 294. 00 every month since the renewal of my contract in June 2014. This year February, I was slapped with an invoice of R1294.01 and a R1344.01 in March. I contacted the MTN accounts department, they told me that I had subscribed to cellphone content. I informed them that I have never subscribed to any telephone content. They then gave me contact details of the company whom I am so called subscribed to. After a telephone conversation with the companies agent at their call centre, they confirmed on email that they would refund the money debited from my account. I responded back saying that I have reversed the funds at my bank and they should remove me from their database, since I have never subscribed to their services. I have checked dialling *141#5, I am not subscribed to any content. Why am I being charged for a service I never subscribed for? I have also de-activated my debit order because of this. Please assist.
