Supplying personal information to 3rd party Veloci

I had today a call from a company called Velocity who stated that they are the call center for MTN and that my contract will expiry soon and that they want to update my contract. They had all my personal detail including my bank account. Upon requiring from them where did they get all my details that stated it was from MTN directly. With further information from their company I realized that they are actually a 3rd party and not at all associated with MTN. I take this as a serious breach of the Protection of Personal information Act of 2013 as I have never gave MTN permission to hand out any of my details to a 3rd party and definitely not my bank details nor ID nr. I am now laying a complaint at the National Consumer Commission. I take this as a serious breach of my contract with MTN and also POPI Act. I phoned MTN and as normal the supervisor Ghaba was not available neither contacted me back.<br> I am not renewing any of my contracts further with MTN as they do not protect my private property as how they should.
