I am so disappointed in MTN right now. I've been a loyal customer more than 10 years. I pay my debit order every month, yet I am provided sub-par service. I upgraded my current contract on 6 April 2018. I was sold a phone with a guarantee that if it is returned within 7 days they will be able to replace it if its is faulty "no questions asked", I was told by the sales consultant. Apparently the contract says differently, yet I was made this promise. Get home, and there is an issue with the battery. The phone was dead straight out of the box. It does not fully charge, even though it says 100%. The green LED indicator doesn't come on. The moment I unplug it from the charger, there is a significant drop. It takes much longer to charge than stated in the specifications and it drops significantly at random intervals. So today on 10 April 2018 I take back the phone to the MTN store, just to find out that, "no sorry, it has to be assessed, and the technician knocked off at 5pm while the store closes at 8pm. So much for "no questions asked." Will MTN reffund me for the R10 x 3 I have to waste on parking just to go to the store? Will MTN refund me for the R500 I had to waste on a screen cover? Will MTN refund me for the 3hours I have to spend in store listening to excuses? Will MTN refund me for the phone I have to borrow for the next while since I am traveling for work and am unable to vist the store again when it is covenient to them? Will I get a brand new phone out of the box which I am entitled to as I am paying for this for the next 24 months? The answers to all those questions is most likely no. I will also most likely be getting back a phone where "we couldn't find any fault" and with a scratched screen and back that I will have to live with and pay for the next 24 months. Come on MTN, I'm not an unreasonable customer, just a loyal customer asking to get what I am paying you for.
