Stop the debit orders.
I have been trying to close the old airtime contract that I had with MTN which currently runs as a month to month contract and they keep taking the R55.00 monthly fee knowing very well that I no longer can use the phone that is surely evident to be inactive in their system. I have gone into their stores at different shopping centres but they give the same response to close the contract by calling an MTN number even though I no longer have an MTN phone and I don't intend to ask someone for their phone because I don't want to explain to someone else something that is none of their business in the first place. What is frustrating is that the contract was signed in a store in front of a person but when it has to be cancelled it has to be done by phone. Why is it not possible to cancel a phone in an MTN store without having to use a phone which is not how I entered the phone in the first place. I don't understand why no MTN store is willing to do this on my behalf at any MTN store. Instead I just get dismissed offhandedly.
I am sure to those well initiated out there this is all much ado about nothing. Some may even see this as nothing but a storm in a tea cup. However, I am being fleeced by this storm nonetheless. Whether or not writing this will make a difference I doubt it but I just had to put it out there.
