A ********** contract was taken on my name with MTN. Below find the timeline and the inability for MTN to resolve this matter. Also considerably they were made aware a day after the application for the contract that the request was **********. Though they still continued with the application. 1. 8th of March we received an sms indicating that my contract application had been submitted for vetting. 2. 9th of March I saw that someone had checked TransUnion with regards to telecommunications. 3. 9th of March I then submitted a complaint to the e-mail complaints line of MTN. E-mail attached. 4. 9th of March I also wrote a hello peter complaint explaining that the contract was ********** and I had not requested it 5. 9th of March they requested an affidavit confirming same and a copy of my ID to be e-mailed where they provided an e-mail address - *** 6. 22nd March I sent through the affidavit and a copy of my ID containing all the required information 7. I was then on holiday where I received a debit on my account in the amount of R1266-00 approximately 8. 1st of April , On my return I called the call centre to ask what the progress was which they then advised they would escalate and provide a response in the next week. Ref – ***. They did confirm that the contract has been suspended and was being investigated. 9. 6th of April I sent an e-mail to MTN once again requesting a response. As per usual there was no response or feedback. 10. 10th of April I called the call centre where they now told me to contact ***** on *** number does not work. The consultant also claimed the system was down and was unable to check or do anything. 11. 12th April I now sent a ***** query on their website. Though from previous experience I don’t believe I will receive any response. Resolution Sought: I need the following: 1. When will my money be returned as I informed them of the ***** when the contract was taken 2. Confirmation the contract is now cancelled 3. How they will be dealing with their staff who are allowing or aiding people in taking ********** contracts.

I have had an MTN account for years ! And now all I want to do is cancel it and have nothing to do with this company who employs idiots who can barely explain or provide a valid response! The reference number for this incident is Ref – ***. Please ensure that this is resolved or to retrieve my money I will have no choice but to follow the legal route.
