Still No Contract After 16 Days
On 11 January I went to the MTN store at the Waterfront to add another contract to my profile. Two days later, no results. The employee was most helpful and offered to deliver the handset as soon as the back office process was successful. The contract is for my son who was rather eager. So, after work on the Friday evening, went to Tygervalley, thinking it's closer to home and he might just get the phone over the weekend... no Joy. Went into the store on the Monday morning to enquire - oh, a different employee says, we need your pay slip and three months bank statements.... So I supply the required docs. And he promises to get back to me. By the weekend, I return back to the store, only to hear the 2nd employee fell ill and NOTHING was done on my application. But not to worry, the 3rd employee says, she will get back to me. Today is the FOURTH time I have returned to the store, only to be told by the 4th employee, he can't see what the problem is, so he tried to reach the 3rd employee, who could not be reached. Now may I add that I have had my contract with MTN since the inception of cellphones. About 4 years ago, I acquired another contract. I even tried to bypass the store and called their Corporate division, with whom I have had interactions with for previous contracts. And it must be noted when I called them, I explained how I have been to two stores and each time there is no joy. I was promised a manager would get involved and I was assured speedy service - still waiting on that too. This has been nothing but frustrating and there is NO sense of urgency from any of the staff. The most helpful employee was the one at the V&A, but unfortunately his service was impaired by a dysfunctional back office. No staff member can tell me what the problem is and have not bothered to look into it. Not once did I get a courteousy call on the progress, but each employee vows to call me back.
