Steer clear of this company!

My bank account was debited with more than R2400 OVER the Apr invoice amount sent to me via sms. After 3 excruciating calls (their operators are not capable at all) totalling 48 minutes of my time (not mentioning the actual call charges -- no, it's not free!) and absolute NO response from MTN, I had to go in to the HO in Bloemfontein. The assistant there eventually assured me that it was an error from their side and I would be credited within a week. When there was no response again from them in a week's time, I called & was informed that it was actually my error (data charges -- I have proof of buying extra data every month since this is a top-up account) and no refund would be made. I then insisted on speaking to the manager (Peggy Serwalo) who also assured me that she studied my account and could not find any proof that I "opened" my data cap, so she would personally see to it that I would get my refund. Had to follow up 3 times before she sent me a rather snotty whatsapp message (really professional!)informing me that "actually, in fact there was no proof whatsoever" that it was MTN's error and no refund would be made. Still awaiting answers on most of my queries for proof (my first query was on 04 May 2016) as well as the invoice that is just not available. Long story short: I think MTN is overcharging its customers to help pay for the massive Nigerian fine and making it an absolute nightmare to solve any query. Be very careful of this company!

MTN / Siphumezo. It's been 9days since your reply to my review (which was posted 2 MONTHS after my first enquiry to which nobody at MTN responded) and still no reply/answer/attempt to contact me. Seems like MTN however again cheated me this month (and I'm just 1 little client, imagine the real scope of ***** committed every month)? (If you have a look at the comments posted on your FB page this is common practice at MTN!) According to my contract I'm supposed to receive R210 airtime, 25sms's and 500MB data every month. No mention of the data credited on your sms this morning and after ending yesterday with airtime of around R40, this morning I have a balance of a whopping R87.64!? Also no reaction yet to the fact that one of my contracts already expired in March and MTN still debits monthly after I specifically requested verbally and in writing, directly to your Bloemfontein branch manager, Mrs Peggy Serwalo, that I want this contract terminated. Seems like you are leaving me no choice but to cancel the arranged debit order at my bank and regain control of the remaining MTN contracts -- none of which will be renewed after the dates specified on the contracts.
