*****ing data bundles, ignoring all correspondence. General DGAF.

MTN has been repeatedly automatically purchasing 1GB data bundles on my husband's phone (and obviously devouring his credit while he's at it). We have attempted to resolve this on the phone, in person in two branches, on twitter and on Facebook. Support staff are ignoring us. I hate that there is a culture where complaining on this stupid website is the only way to get assistance.

Twitter thread: https://twitter.com/MTNza/status/ ********** ********** 1360

Facebook thread 1: https://www.facebook.com/MTNza/posts/ ********** ********** 498?match=bXRu
Facebook thread 2: https://www.facebook.com/MTNza/posts/ ********** ********** 987?match=bXRu

Please could somone assist ASAP by calling Scott on ********** . He has had to let his credit run out in order to stop having it taken and used to purchase data that expires faster than anyone could ever use it.

Thank you,

Samantha.

Good day Samantha,
Thank you for your post.
We are terribly sorry for the inconveniences that you have experienced as a result of this. We completely understand the frustration it causes.
Kindly note that the Fortnightly 1GB data bundles were not being automatically purchased or loaded automatically as a recurring data bundle. Please note that the 1GB data bundles were purchased on the 2016-09-06, 2016-09-21, 2016-09-22 and 2016-09-23.
Please be advised that one can load multiple MTN Fortnightly Bundles. If the MTN Fortnightly Bundles inclusive value is depleted before the 14 days expiry, you will be charged an Out of Bundle Rates of R0.99 (VAT Inclusive) on your available balance.
Rest assured, it is not our intention to displease you. We look forward to improving on the service delivery to you.
Regards,
Peggy

Peggy, we did not make those purchases. They were automatically "purchased" by MTN. This is not a satisfactory answer at all.
1. We bought 1 fortnightly data bundle. This we wanted, and paid for, and all was as to be expected.
2. Every day for the next few days directly after that, MTN bought us a new fortnightly top-up. If you check the account history you should notice a pattern of odd purchases, at regular intervals.
3. What this means is that instead of auto-topping us up on the fornightly auto-topup promotion, it was topping us up DAILY.
You can absolutely not blame this on my husband or I, which is exactly what you've done in your response.
Our desired outcome is for MTN to return the credit that it wrongly kept auto-deducting. Please could someone sort this out asap because it has been going on for weeks.
