Stay away from MTN!!! They care nothing for their clients!!! Take any service provider!! Do not support any company that does not care about customer service because if we accept it it will never change!!

I am sick to my stomach with the way MTN does business!!! I logged a previous complaint here, and a man from MTN phoned me and promised me that he would sort the problem out for me, that was 1 month ago and I still haven't heard anything back!! I took out a new contract with MTN in Sep 2018, the phone was working fine until 2 months later. The phone did not want to charge past 2%. I took the phone into woodlands MTN where I took out the contract. The phone was still working and turned on. They sent me home to get the original box and charger as they could not book the phone in without it. I did so and returned to MTN with the package. We showed them the problem, and the phone was switched on in their shop. They then booked the phone in and completed the forms showing the condition of the phone... All areas are marked as good condition and the only fault on the form is that the phone does not charge past 2%! They then took the phone from me to send it in for repairs. This was on the 20th of November 2018. They told us that it would take up to 4 weeks for the repair. I went in after 2 weeks to inquire about the progress of the repair. Only to be told that they do not know where the phone is. After a while of searching and phoning around they realised that the phone was only sent out now and was lying in their shop for 2 weeks. And so it went on... We went in every week after to find out the progress, even though they promised to call me and never did. After 6 weeks of waiting and disappointment, they told me to phone the repair centre myself. So I did. They then told me that the phone has water damage and therefore the warranty is ceased. I told her that there is no way that it has been water damaged. She then said that a quotation was sent to MTN in Midrand and that I should phone them to send the quotation to the woodlands branch!!!! How is this my job???! I then told mtn woodlands what she said and they took it from there. Another 2 weeks past, I went in every Thursday to follow up but could not get any answers. After the two weeks MTN woodlands phoned me to come collect my phone. We went in to do so, and they wanted to give me the phone in pieces!! Nothing working you can't even close the cover of the phone. Its not in the condition that it was when I handed it in. And they gave it to me in a brown box!! They didn't even send back the original box that we had to drive home to fetch because they are not allowed to book it in without the original box and charger!!! How can they return phone in pieces, and in another box?!!!!! Obviously I refused to accept the phone in that condition!! It has now been almost 3 months from the start of this nightmare!! We still visit the MTN woodlands branch every Thursday to get some answers. The staff and management at the shop agree that there is no way that it is at all acceptable for the device to be in the condition that it is!! They promised me every week that they are talking to head office and sorting this out. I went in again today and they finnaly had an answer for me. Basically MTN says it's not their problem and I am welcome to sort it out with Samsung!!!!!! How the hell!!! I did not hand in my phone at Samsung!!! I went to MTN!!!! How can they make their negligence my problem!!! The device was lying in their storage for 2 weeks before it was even sent in to Samsung!!! What happened to my phone in the 2 weeks that it was there???!!!! Maybe it got wet and maybe that is why they took so long to send it in?? The device that was working and turned on is now in pieces and they are not even able to put it back together. The report that I received today says that the lcd screen is not displaying??!! It was working when I handed it over!! Nowhere on the checklist does it say that the phone was not able to be turned on or that the screen was damaged in any way!!! It says that the main pba has water damage and is unable to be powered on! The phone was on in the MTN shop when we handed it in! Mrs. Sharon Britt, the stock manager at cellular intelligence could just reply with "there is nothing further that can be done, liquid damage is liquid damage, the client is welcome to go to Samsung themselves if they so wish!! How is that for customer service!!!! I feel that MTN Should take responsibility for the broken phone!!! The poor guy at MTN woodland, has to see my angry and disappointed face every week!! I feel so sorry for the guy! His manager sits in the back and just sends him to deliver the bad news everytime!! Grow a back bone!!! There is a reason your salary is larger then the guy at the front desk!! I am discusted by the no care attitude that MTN has towards its clients!!! I have been a client with MTN for many many years and they can't even try to look into the claim!!! They can't sort the problem out for me but they refuse to give me contact details of the person who can!!! I now have to pay a 2 year contract an I have no phone!!! I warn everybody who is considering a contract with MTN to think twice!!! They are very eager and friendly when it comes to taking your money, but they feel nothing for their clients!! Basically it is my problem and there is nothing I can do about it!! Sic**** Sic**** Sic**** I will be contacting a lawyer and sorting this out!! I will make it a point to tell at least 5 people every day about this nightmare!! I will warn as many people as I possibly can!!
