STAY AWAY FROM MTN HOME INTERNET

In the last 18 hours, I spent about 2 hours on the phone with 4 service calls to the MTN LTE helpdesk. I have basically zero connection, fluctuating by second between 2 Mbps to 500bits (332 jitter). I called on their 083 number 900 and 1212. The nightstaff are technically illiterate. The first one insisted that I must have data on my cellular phone, as she wanted to set up my LTE Router through my phone! She did not want to budge an inch, and although I pleaded with her just to reset my connection to test, she bluntly refused. Second try (at least this lady knew the difference between a phone and a router), went through all the satandard Q&A's on her screen, although I told her that I encountered the problem about 15 times in the past and what she is getting me to do is not the solution. She even had me remove the simm, etc., etc., etc.. She at least said she will reset the connection. That did not resolve the problem, though. Waited to get hold of the day staff. At last, the lady established that due to yesterday's power outage (most probably), the antenna pole closest to me was down (at least good technoical know how there - it was also out 19 Jan). She would have logged a service call, and I would have received the ref. number a bit later. After 8 hours, no ref, number, and no improvement. Callagain. Confirmation that the last service call was 19 Jan. Asked to get it logged again. She confirmed exactly which pole it is that is out. Now hear this! I must supply her MY GPS coordinates to log the technical call. Not info I keep, and I switch all that type of tracking off on all my devices. She insisted that it was impossible for her to log the technical call unless I could give her my GPS coordinates. They have my address, they have the pole reference, but she cannot log a call due to this! So, no technical ticket, no help in sight, and a layer of clueless agents buffering me from any hope of assistance in the near future! STAY AWAY FROM MTN HOME INTERNET. AS LONG AS IT WORKS YOU ARE FINE, BUT PRAY YOU DO NOT ENCOUNTER A PROBLEM!

5TH time lucky. I found a caring assistant who actually just went to the bit of trouble, looking up my co-ordinates (apparently needed if it does not show on their system?) herself. Took her 3 min. Technical call it now logged!!!!! Nearly 10 hours of pain and suffering!
