Stay away from MTN fiber completely!

Terrible experience with MTN and horrible service, installers are unequipped to do the job and nothing in the lines of customer service!

I recently ordered an MTN fiber line through home connect and I have to say this is one of the most frustrating experiences of my life. I got a call on Thursday morning saying they were on their way to do the installation and that they’d be there around 12:30 then no one arrived tried calling them back multiple times with no answer, eventually I get a call back at 4:30 saying that their car broke down on the way from Pretoria and that’s why they couldn't make it but they’d be there the next day to install it and they’d call me with regards to time in the morning, they arrived unannounced on site at around 8am Friday when no one was at the house and left before I could get to the house from my office tried calling a few times and no answer then get ahold of him saying the guys didn’t have a part to do the installation and had to go to roodepoot to fetch it but they’d be back, they never arrived couldn’t get hold of him then he called saying the part was actually in Mpumalanga and they had to fetch it so couldn’t do the installation but they’d be here on Saturday morning first thing. Once again no one pitched and no contact tried calling again and again and the phone wasn’t ringing, messages weren’t going through and then eventually got a call from him saying he was in an exam and that his guys were meant to contact me and that he’d get back to me, didn’t get back to me so I called messaged and WhatsApped and eventually got this message “I'm really sorry Dean, unfortunately we didn't get material. Doesn't look like it will happen this weekend. My apologies.” Eventually I got someone to come install the line, organized for my mother to be home and apparently she felt unsafe letting them into the house, apparently they stunk, were in an unbranded car and had very little equipment to do the job, asking for extension cords and adapters which an installer of any kind really should have. Tried configuring the router with little success and now I’ve found out the installers didn’t install the router properly so now they have to come out again which is supposed to happen on Monday but given the track record I have little faith, I don’t think MTN actually even cares about their brand image and this is not the first time I’ve had problems with them, I am honestly fed up, just get the job done.
