Staff incompetence
My father passed away in March 2014. In July 2014 I attemped to transfer an account, which had been paid cash since March, to my wife's name. The transfer failed which I only discovered weeks later when I contacted MTN for an update.

I then went through the hassle of resubmitting all the required documents to attempt the transfer again, which had failed the first time due to my newly married wife's ID not matching her surname, though her ID was 3 months old already.

True to form, MTN didn't bother informing me that the transfer hadn't gone through and the account was handed over to the debt collectors. This I only discovered earlier this year when I went to a different branch enquiring about porting my wife's cellphone number to MTN.

I attempted on several occasions to resolve the matter via MTN Legal and other departments, only to be told each time that they cannot help me and to then be transferred to a different department.

My father has been gone for over a year now and MTN are still trying to collect money from a deceased person even though a death certificate was sent to them with both transfer attempts.

Shockingly *********** service delivery!
