So much for number for life
I had a number on contract for many years.
When I had received a position overseas for a few months, I changes to pay as you go.
Now coming back after a number of months, I am told by your call center that my number was deactivated and recycled and the prepaid money on the number was effectively ****** by MTN. (for lack of a better word)
Seriously ?
You have just lost a customer for life!

07 May 2015, 11:41Hello ccv,
Thank you for your post.
Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused as result of the breakdown in the service delivery in one of our touch points.
Kindly be advised that to keep your cellphone number active, you need to make at least 1 chargeable call every 90 days as per MTN Access 4 Life. If MTN cancels your number, all the unused airtime on the number will be forfeited with effect from the date of cancellation.
If you are going to be out of the country for 90 days or more, you may activate the MTN Access 4 Life Extender. The service will deduct R20 from your airtime for every 90 days that elapse while the service is active. You will need to cancel the service upon your return to South Africa; otherwise the service will continue to deduct R20 every 90 days until it is cancelled. To activate the service, please call 141 and listen to the voice prompt and select option 9 then option 2 and lastly option 1 to activate the service.
Rest assured, it is not our intention to displease you. We look forward to improving on the service delivery to you.
Regards,
Ayanda
