I have given MTN ample opportunity to sort out this issues. I believe this falls within a reasonable period to want out and they did breach the contract. I offered them the option to just cancel my contract and we part ways shaking hands they informed me that this was not allowed. I am thus formally giving them 7 days to cancel my contract and refund me the money I spent sorting out the contract. This includes airtime when I could not use my MTN card and Uber fees as 808 kept telling me to go into store.

Account details:
Name: Jami Lee Kuhn
ID: ********** 047087
MTN account number: A **********

My issues are discussed under the following points:
1. MTN charges to connect to the LTE Network
2. Charging me for data I did not request nor receive.
3. Unwanted automatic subscriptions
4. Do not have my device in my possession
5. MTN recycles numbers
6. Fee incurred trying to sort this out

1. I was not aware that MTN charged a fee to connect to LTE Network as every other Network did Zero rating. My airtime has gone missing and I never agreed to that. The link to the article is below:

https://mybroadband.co.za/news/cellular/220880-disappearing-airtime-is-real-we-have-the-proof.html

2. Charging me for data I did not ask for. Firstly I get 10G promotional data each month for the first three. I had all that data and they charged me for an extra two 3G I did not need. (The lady at the counter when I disputed it the next day at Tygervalley said it is impossible as I had an MTN Pin, I created that pin that night via 808 so no one could touch my account further. Attached you will find my MTN bill Invoice showing they added 3G twice. I have also attached the data usage statement and you will see one of the 3G they charging me for was not even added to my account. Yet I am meant to pay.
Current Balance:
Data Charged on my account:

Data used and remaining:

please see attached statement and add up the data usage it equals 10.4G
10G add 3G add the 1.5 G promotion is 14.5 G
14.5 G add 3G add the 1.5G promotional is 19G
Add also the 100mb of my contract
add 10mb and 5mb recharge
I have used 10.4G and have 4G remaining.....how is it that I am charged for 2 x 3G?

3. Unwanted automatic subscriptions. I receive sms's (example Pasted below from today as I am typing the email even.). I get told you are subscribed when I never went to any site other that Facebook that day. I unsubscribe and it automatically resubscribes. I did not sign that I wanted to pay R7/per day for multiple subscriptions. This is another breach out contract.

4. I do not have a working phone in my possession. I opened my contract on the 10 June 2017. My phone was taken in for repair. A short representative of MTN Tygervalley with blondish brown hair told me I would receive a new phone. They called a few days later and I went to store. They tried to give me the same faulty phone saying they had checked it out. I submitted it with video of the fault. I do not believe it was probably examined as I could not even type on the device once it heated up. Please see the videos attached below.
Video one: I often had issues switching the phone on
Video two: after using for about 30min it would heat and I would not be able to pull the keypad up to type.

5. Mtn recycled numbers I was unaware of that, I received a number that a Maria Makwenda previously used. She racked up accounts at RCS, Rage, Homechoice etc. She has not made payments and lawyers and debt collectors will not take my word for it I am not her. This happens at work constantly. I would not have agreed to this recycled number if it was explained to me. I get SMSed and I have wasted tons of airtime phoning people to be removed from there lists. Below is an example that was sent also at 12:47 26/7/17 while I was typing this:

6. Fee I incurred to sort this out I would also like back. The 808 platform is meant to be free for MTN users, I often did not have access to the network and could not phone thus I called from a Vodacom number. I used minimum R100 on this alone. Below see my attached bank statement showing where I purchased MTN airtime. Never mind the calls to try and stop getting calls as Maria Makwenda.
Uber cost: I do not have my own vehicle and work in Brackenfell I got sent to Tygervalley for each issue. I then had to Uber home from Tygervalley to Durbanville. I have a lift straight home from work but had to give that up for the times I went to Tygervalley.
Uber from work to tygervalley: R55
Uber from Tygervalley to home: R 48
I will ask for the 3 dates I specify below as I can prove being there those days. I went to other branches but they told me to go back here.
(55 x 3) + ( 48 x 3) = 100 = R409 minimum

My attempts at resolving you can ask for email / recording proof etc. I sent 11 emails. Went to store Last Thursday 20 July, Tuesday 25 July, Friday 21 July. I was each time told to speak to Riyaaz who now informed me he will only be around before 3. I can not take off work for this again. I spoke to this man via phone call and whatsapp and he wants to explain it all away, I am not interested in now fixing the contract I am not willing to pay for data I don’t receive and to connect to the Network.

I want it cancelled.
