So difficult just to do a sim swap!

I am trying to do a sim swap now and they are asking me questions I don't know, I never had itemised billing on the number, my 80 year old step father used the sim card until he lost it, I owned and paid my account on the number from 2005/06 and now I can't even do a sim swap on the number because I don't know the last 3 frequently dialled numbers and you ask for price plan but don't even have it on my bill! I know I got 50 minutes a month and paid. I think it's best I just port the number to Cell C, it's such a mission getting anything done with MTN.

Good afternoon Cindy

Thank you for your post.

We are terribly sorry for the inconveniences that you experienced as a result of this. We completely understand the frustration it causes.

Kindly note that you have an option to do an affidavit, state that the number belongs or was used by your father and cannot remember the security questions. Fax us a certified copy of your ID and the affidavit. The affidavit must have the new and the old number, alternative contact number. The sim swap will be processed.

The ussd code can be used for a sim swap, Please dial *173*3# okay and then follow the prompts.

Rest assured, it is not our intention to displease you. We look forward to improving on the service delivery to you.

Regards

Lungi
