So called " Packet switch data calls"

I've had a 2G data contract from MTN for about 4 years now. A capped account as I had to buy a pay as you go data card for whenever I used my 2g and could not just add data due to the contract.

Now 4 years later I received an account for R3200 - for Pakcet swithced calls.

Customer services rep**** that I had used 7 G data and chardged at out of bundle rates! How is this possible on a capped contract?? At R3200 it is R450 per gig???? I've been given the run around for more than a week now.

MTN, please sort this out

Good day Jaco,

Thank you for your post.

We apologize for the inconveniences that you have experienced. We completely understand the frustration it causes.

We note that this account is on a MTN broadband 2G. This means that this is an open package and according to the contract you signed, you had not set a usage limit hence the current balance. This then unfortunately means that you are liable to pay your account as per your invoice. Your contract can be made available to you on request.

Should you require any further assistance with your account, please write back to us and we will attend to the matter accordingly.

Kind Regards,

I had to buy a pay as you go data sim card because whenever the limit was reached, I had no connection and could not load extra data! And at a cost of R450/gig?? This is theft! Where does this open package now come from?? Its never been open!!
