Sim swap still not activated after 3 weeks
The contract was transferred from Altech Autopage to MTN. Before the transfer we cancelled the contract. We went to MTN to open a new contract. Gail at Fleurdal informed us that it is not necessary for a new contract as the old one is not cancelled and we could just upgrade. We then upgraded and received a new phone with the small sim card. A new sim card was given to us, which was also not the correct size. On Thursday 24 March we received a new sim card to insert in the new phone but was instructed that it won't work until the activation of the new card. After a week and several calls the sim card was not yet activated. We went to the branch and received once again a new sim card and Gail said that we should wait for the activation email before inserting it in the new phone. I even lodge complaints with [Email Removed] which confirmed that the sim will be activated after 24 hours.

I can't believe the service that we get from MTN. I feel like cancelling all our contracts with MTN because this is unacceptable service. Is it so difficult to sort out a clients account? Isn't it important for a service provider to have happy clients? What should we do to get this sorted out?
hank you for your post.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced with our service.
Kindly be advised that the Autopage number with the cell number has been converted to prepaid before the upgrade has been done with the store, not sure why the agent has informed you no need to do a new contract while the number has been converted to prepaid. We have escalated the request back to the store to assist further.
Please can you send to us a copy of the contract signed with the stores to try and activate the cell number from prepaid to contract. The fax number ***.
Kind Regards,
Alice van der Merwe
