SIM SWAP - NO PROGRESS AFTER 9 DAYS!!!

MTN advised that we do a SIM swap as the old SIM had been used for several years. After queuing for an hour and 20 minutes on Sat 4 July we finally got served. We were told it would take 2 - 24 hours, and at the point that the old SIM loses connectivity the new SIM would be active. Old SIM dies, new SIM not active. Took it back the 5th, 6th, and 8th of July and still the SIM is inactive (message depends on device we put it into). Total queuing time is now in excess of 9 hours and we still have no joy. This comes on top of the contract device now being taken if for repairs for the THIRD time since May. Every time we get it back we can never use it. Not sure what is happening to MTN but after 20 years I am wondering whether I should switch networks. The current situation is just unbearable and I don't know why I put up with it.
