Sim swap

Hello Peter My MTN number that I had been using since 2010 was hacked last week and I went to MTN store in Tambotie mall in Randfontein but I was referred to Foschini store to sort the issue of my Sim in the name of me having a contract with Foschini of which I didn't not have a contract. My worry is that number is ricad with my ID n names and if the service provider can't help me close, block or get my number back where else will I get assisted??? I even went to the police station to try report but I was told that there is nothing that police can do it's only MTN n MTN alone. Made an affidavit in regard to the hacked sim. Please assist Regards
