Sim swap ***** and security breach

Title: URGENT: MTN Failing to Stop Repeated SIM Swap ***** on My Number – Financial Loss Incurred I am extremely frustrated and concerned about the ongoing security failure by MTN Group regarding my number ***), which has been repeatedly hacked through SIM swap *****. This issue started on 26 March 2026, and despite multiple reports and interventions, MTN has failed to secure my number. Timeline of events: 26 March 2026 – My number was hacked. 27 March 2026 – I completed an affidavit and went to the MTN Reef Mall branch where a SIM swap reversal was done. 1 April 2026 – My number was hacked again. 4 April 2026 – Another SIM swap ***** occurred. 12 April 2026 – I contacted 135 and requested my number be placed on call alert. 14 April 2026 – My number has been hacked AGAIN. I have contacted MTN (135) multiple times, and the matter was escalated to the ***** department with a promise of resolution within 5 working days — this has not happened. As a result of MTN’s failure to secure my number: *****sters took R200 MTN Extra Time airtime My Mr Price Group account was de*****ed of R800 (linked to my MTN number) This is not just poor service — this is a serious security failure that is costing me money and putting my personal information at risk. I demand the following: Immediate and permanent blocking of SIM swap activity on my number Full investigation into how these swaps are being approved repeatedly Refund of all *****ulent transactions (R200 + R800) Implementation of strict security measures on my number (SIM swap lock / in-store verification only) Urgent resolution and written feedback It is unacceptable that a customer can be hacked this many times with no proper intervention from MTN. If this matter is not resolved urgently, I will escalate it to the relevant regulatory authorities. I expect immediate action.
