Shocking Service, Exhorbitant Account

I have had a contract with MTN from the inception of cellphones. My account in the past few years was around R450.00. I am not one for using my cellphone for anything much except What's App and very few calls. In the past couple of months, my account has doubled. Trying to get anyone to give one an answer to how this is remotely possible when your phone is suspended (despite the account being paid timeously) is impossible. I have left my phone as "suspended". This is highly inconvenient because should the need arise, I cannot make a call or send a message. I have therefore only used Wi-Fi connections to utilise my phone. My December account is due, I call the number to establish the next balance due and it is higher than it has ever been. Forget getting an answer. It is almost impossible to speak to a human and nothing has been resolved despite complaints since September 2018. As soon as I can cancel this contract, I will do so. If you are looking for a provider, steer well clear if service is what you expect

Thank you very much for this information. I have no idea who these people are and how they are able to do this with no consent. I have received no correspondence from them. Please could you advise how I get hold of them as this is ******** Regards Sharon Cox

On reading complaints regarding this company, it would seem to be a **** made possible by cellphone providers. How is this allowed to happen? How is it that a company can use my cellphone account to put a debit through? What responsibility do MTN take for this being done. I am certain that MTN, along with other service providers, are well aware of these ****s and no cellphone contract should be open for people/companies/********s to just debit at will. My cellphone account is for my authorised use of my phone and not for these kind of ****s.

Please coud you follow up on this complaint. I am not looking for copy and paste responses or for being told that this is something I authorised. I did not. Who has the right to allow a third party company, to bill a customers account without a contract. At no point have I consented for my number to be provided to anyone, let alone a company that go debiting customer accounts without permission.
