2 weeks ago phoned and was told that the contract that I wanted was 629.

I then phoned before I went in to the Rivonia branch on Sunday and was told that I needed, proof of residence, copy of my payslips and my ID book

I went in- for the particular reason that I do not have the time to deal with this during the week and saw Neo. Neo firstly was quite unprofessional, the whole time that iwas standing in front of him he proceeded to have conversation with his colleague in vernac.. He also told me that there was no much contract for 629 and that it was actually 699. After some back and forth, I produced the note with all of the details as given by the call center lady which he then took to confirm with a few other people came back and confirmed that it was in fact 629. I am dumb founded how everyone else, who presumably has access to the same information, was able to see this information but he was not.

I confirmed that I would like the P9 in Rose Gold, which he went to check and see if he had stock. After returning a couple of minutes later he confirmed that there was no stock but he would be able to order one for me. He would confirm on Monday when he would be able to deliver it to me, at my office in Sandton. He then confirmed that he did not require any of the documentation that I had specifically gone to print out, but rather that I needed to complete a form which I duly did. I enquired about the billing, which he confirmed would be prorated and after his colleague interjected and some back and forth (in vernac) he then confirmed that the billing would in fact not be prorated.

Low and behold, Monday came and went, as did Tuesday with no call from Neo to confirm when I would be getting my new phone.

I phoned on Wednesday and spoke to Sia to see if stock had arrived. She advised that Neo was on leave but that she would check and get back to me. She then phoned back a couple of minutes later and advised that the current stock was black, titanium and gold. Rose gold was only available to Vodacom. Which is utterly ridiculous. Since I would not get the color that I actually wanted, and am paying a significant amount for, Could she please confirm the color that the representative on site had as this would then be my second option. I also asked if all of the forms I filled out would still be there, but I was told that I will more than likely have to come in again, to restart the process. I was promised a call back in a couple of minutes, which did not happen.

I then phoned back and was told that the rep was not at work but that Neo had been given a message to phone me. Which did not happen. I was then told that gold was now lo longer available. When I asked to speak to a manager was, I was told that there was only 1 phone and a request would be sent to one of them to phone me back. I asked for a call back within the hour-as quite frankly MTN have wasted enough of my time. This too has not happened.

How is it that your call center has different information to what is happening on the ground- surely you have SOP’s in place?

How is it that with a phone, which is as popular as it is, is only available in certain colors to an organization of your size. Are you not meant to be market leaders?

How is it that you offer such poor customer service?

How is it that you have people such as Neo employed at your establishment?

Having read through some of the online reviews of this branch- it is clear to see that you are not at all customer centric and quite frankly do not give a damn about your consumers.

How do you feel that it is appropriate for refer clients who have complained to a different communication channel that is convenient for you- when they have already voiced their complaints on a platform which you have allowed?

Best regards,
it is incredibly disheartening that such a generic response is sent . It's also very evident that no investigation was done into this case, or else you would have noted the various other servious breakdowns that occurned on various platforms in the lengthy time it took you to respond. As an organisation, you should be taking a step into the future and aligning all of your social media platforms to ensure that the breaks in service do not occure - such as yout Twitter and FaceBook staff.
