Shocking Service

On 16 Jan,I upgraded my data contract via MTN Direct. The Samsung Galaxy Tab A came on the 19th at 1245pm. After taking it to the office, I immediately saw that the box the was broken and the tablet cover had been opened. I immediately called MTN direct and was told to hand over the device at Morningside MTN Service Centre. I drove there same time and handed it over at 1355hrs. I advised Laleesha that the tablet had been returned. I called yesterday 22 Jan to check on the progress and she advised she can only send a replacement after the old one is returned from the service centre and the process takes 21 days. The rationale behind this didn't make sense hence I immediately exercised my 7day right to cancel the upgrade. This was a new contract with no device, so I had no choice. Why must I wait 21days for you to rectify YOUR MISTAKE? It was your blunder so why must a customer suffer? You should be embarrassed of yourselves. I knew Telkom was cheaper for the same device but I chose MTN out of loyalty because I have been a client for 7 years. I guess loyalty means nothing to you hence I will be getting the device from Telkom and won't renew my 2 contracts expiring in July 2016. Bye

I was not happy by the way I was treated for a fault that was not mine. I have moved all my contract lines to Telkom except one that is expiring in May 2017. From a high of 7 contracts at one point, I am left with only one. Once that expires I won't have an account with MTN anymore. Your loss is another network's benefit.
