Shocking Mtn signal strength
I changed my cellular provider to Mtn after being with another service provider for over 20 years. I now have several cell phone as well as several data contracts with Mtn. I am very disappointed with the extremely shockingly poor signal in the area that I live and work, being Bruma, Johannesburg. I operated my office from home remotely before and now I have to go to one of my companies offices to work, due to this problem.

Is there anything you can do Mtn, to improve or boost your signal at my residence/home office? I don't know if you can supply me with some form of signal booster?

If I do not come right with this problem, I will have to look at other options with other service providers.

Yours faithfully

Mr MG Denis Gachet
Thank you for your post.
Due to the current load shedding this is affecting our network service in certain areas around the country. MTN South Africa works tirelessly to ensure that there is minimal affect and that its customers continue to receive a quality voice and data experience during these periods of load shedding.
In the event of a power failure MTN base station sites are powered by batteries for a period of time, but will fail if outages are for long periods. In the case of failures being longer than normal and the batteries no longer can power the equipment, MTN endeavours to get generators to important sites to restore service, this however cannot be achieved for 100% of the failed sites.
If this is an ongoing problem and affecting most people in your area, you can call ***. This is our network department, they will assign a technician to come and assess the area. The call is not chargeable.
We would like to assure you that we are actively working to improve our service levels.
