SHAME ON YOU MTN!

Since Thursday 12 February 2026 the town of Barkly West has been experiencing MTN signal issues. Thursday to Sunday we had absolutely no signal. Since then it comes on in the day but every night around 20:00 it goes down again until the next morning around 7:00. Every time one must call MTN ask for your SIM to be re-set and if you have MTN LTE via another service provider you need to request a SIM unlock.

It is so bad that all MTN customers in town have made a collective effort to log faults and share ticket numbers. Every day MTN has the audacity to tell us there is nothing wrong their network is 100%. It is so bad that we need to drive 10km out of town to make a call. People who work from home need to drive to Kimberley to work.
