Service delivery failure
I want to bring the lack of service delivery that I lately have experienced from Mtn under your attention: I took the phone in for repairs on 29 September 2017 to the Mtn branch in the North Cape Mall, Kimberley. After some complaints and several phone calls to your repair centre, explaining the urgency for the phone to be repaired and returned in time as I had to go to hospital (I was admitted to Mediclinic Gariep) the phone was only returned on 25 October 2017. Since I was not discharged, my wife collected the phone from the Mtn shop in the North Cape Mall. She complained to me about the way she was treated. Back home she connected the phone to the charger and the next day, as soon as I was discharged from hospital, I tried to use the phone – only to discover that no repair has been done! It still had the same problem. I immediately called your service centre and spoke to a guy called Pappamang. This time I explained that I urgently need the phone since I am going overseas to address an international conference. (My connection flight [SA Express flight SA 1104] departs from Kimberley on 22 November at 10:55 and thereafter I depart from OR Tambo for Paris [Air France AF0995].) Last week I called a couple of times (and always tried to speak to Pappamang or a supervisor) as I also had to deliver a speech at a conference (13 and 14 November) in Pretoria. On Thursday I succeeded to speak to Pappamang again and he promised to escalate the matter to the supervisor and have the supervisor call me. It did not happen. On Friday I called again, but still nothing was forthcoming. Late that afternoon someone called and told me that the supervisor told him to call me to tell me the matter is out of their hands as “regenerate” had to repair the phone. I explained that the matter was urgent and he undertook to speak to the supervisor again. He later called back to tell me there was nothing they could do. Once again I explained my situation. This time around he understood and said – since it was already 16:25 and that he knockoff at 16:30 – he will have the supervisor call me first thing Monday morning, even though I might be in the conference meeting. It never happened. Monday (13 November) at about 12:00, I called again and was told that the phone was dispatched to Kimberley. Wednesday (15 November) I received a call from Mtn, North Cape Mall, to come and collect my phone. I immediately went there and tried to charge the phone (in the presence of your personal, Sandra and Daniso) – only to find that nothing was done! The very same fault still persisted. Daniso called from the shop and I also spoke to your service centre. I once again asked to speak to a supervisor. I was promised that someone will call. It never happened. Later on Wednesday afternoon, I once again called. I had to call repeatedly as your personal refused that I speak to a supervisor or any other senior person. They were forever busy on anther call or not in the office. I have spoken to Zandi, Nabatho, Lerato and eventually to Lefa. Lefa said he was standing in for the supervisor. He also promised to take action and get back to me. It never happened. Thursday morning I called again and spoke to Stembiso Yende who advised me to put all of this in writing and email it to ********** I was supposed to get an automated reply with a reference number within an hour or two and a full response within 24 hours. Non of it ever happened. This morning I once again called and was asked to forward my email tot ********** I did that at 09:18 and was supposed to get an automated reply with a reference number within an hour or two. it never happened. I believe that Mtn are in breach of contract. I am paying for a phone and services that are not delivered.
