Service consultants cannot do their job correctly

When I took out a new data contract, the sales consultant at the MTN owned store informed me that the system is just off line, but my request for a R1 limit would be activated within 24 hours. Much to my surprise, three months later I get billed an ekstra R554. When I queried at the store, they informed me it is there fault and it would be credited to my account. Now, 5 months later, after numerous call from myself, MTN informs me I only changed the billing limit after the fact and I will not receive my funds back. I have been a loyal MTN customer from 1994 and have had more than 5 contracts simultaneously, but that in todays world does not count for anything. I have been canceling my contracts as they reach there expiry dates and will continue doing so. Mtn is in my view the worse cell phone company in Africa. Every time I speak to one of their consultants, they just blame the previous one, what they don't realise is that all of them, with their sweet voices still talks the same nonsense. I am truly disappointed.

Hello MarkThiebaut,

We are truly sorry for the inconvenience caused and for the breakdown in service experienced.

We've perused your account and see that the store logged an incorrect request to our head office for an error that took place in the store. We've now escalated the matter directly to the store manager and requested that your account be credit ASAP for the erroneous charges.

Once again we do apologize for any inconvenience caused.

Regards
Tim
