Service at MTN Headquarters an absolute shambles!!
I am a business contract customer and I must say lately I am becoming extremely disgusted and frustrated by MTNs customer service I have 2 unresolved issues - one outstanding for OVER A YEAR!!
Over a month ago, I decided to add yet another line to my existing contract. I followed up on this consistently and was informed that it was still under process Suddenly I am now told that the process took too long, and although approved, I cannot get the deal as it was a Black Friday deal This makes absolutely no sense to me I can only imagine that there was some negligence on somebodys part, as the delay was no fault of mine! This is totally unacceptable, against the CPA regulations, and appears to be a devious tactic on the part of MTN - to advertise great deals, then drag their feet in processing the deals, and then using this as an excuse not to honour their commitment. (Another typical example of this is detailed below)
I have tried to address this via various channels. I called in to the call centre who were unable to assist I was advised to go to the Head Office at 14th Avenue - which also happened to be a disaster. After having to wait for 1 and 1/2 hours - they also could not assist I must mention that the Customer Services Centre at 14th avenue is an absolute shambles - neither is there a dedicated Business Support Consultant nor is there a Manager. The service received there leaves much to be desired!! Basically I was shunted from one place to the other, with absolutely no solution offered!!
For what is a supposed to be a seamless process for an existing Business Customer, I am currently having to use my phone as a modem (it not only affects my work but also drains my battery life - this is ridiculous as I am often on call and need a fully functional mobile phone). I am also having to ***gy back data from my phone just to get my work done due to somebody elses negligence!!
The second issue originated in 2022. In Nov 2022, my other contract was expiring. At the beginning of December 2022, I decided to not upgrade and requested the number to be converted to prepaid. I waited for a couple of months and realised I was still being charged for this. In March 2023, I again brought this to the attention of the MTN store. Much to my horror, I am still being charged for this contract that was supposed to have been cancelled a year ago!! Again I attempted to address this via the call centre - to no avail. I raised this issue at the MTN Head Quarters, Customer Service Centre - and was basically told the consultant couldnt do anything! I was advised to request the cancellation again, and this would be treated as a new request and no credit for the other months would be given (this despite having proof that the request was made a year ago!!)
A week ago the matter was escalated to David - apparently he is the area manager, who promised a solution by the following day. To date there has been no response!
This is absolutely ridiculous!!! Is this the kind of service I should expect to receive from now on??? Is there a way that I can score them less than 1? I believe Nkuli is the other area manager - does anybody have the contact details?
I hope I am not going to receive the standard tape-recorded "We will look into the matter" response but something more concrete Does anybody have the contact details of the CEO?
