**** or not MTN

I got a call for an *** a week ago and they claimed to be from MTN and were offering me a contract phone, and till today it has not been delivered. Please confirm delivery or is MTN aware of this? I am a bit confused because they wanted my ID number, Address and banking details. Is this really MTN? Please advise urgently.
