Sad state of affairs

I have an LG on contract at MTN...ONE Saturday morning, I wake up and phone just would not turn on (luckily I didn't need an alarm). So I take it to an MTN store - bear in mind I've had this baby for a already - I think 'Thank you Lord it's still under warranty' - I get to the store.. They have a look at the phone. They ask me where the charger is...(I've never heard of a phone company asking for original charger when handing in for repairs) I tell them I lost it. THEY SHOW ME - RIGHT THERE in fine print (obviously) you cannot have the phone repaired without producing the original charger...and if that's not enough.... MTN, VODACOM, CELL C, TELKOM - DON'T STOCK THE ORIGINAL LG CHARGER- HOW HOW HPW IN THE 21st century are we still getting ****** like this. I'm paying my full line rental with a **** phone and have to spend money to fix it...

Thanks for your reply. I completely understand. My argument though, is that the charger is lost. YOU (MTN) don't stock it. I can't bring it to be repaired without a charger... So what now?

At the end of the day I am still paying full price for something I get only part usage of.

The ideal response I would have liked is since it's under warranty it'll be repaired and we'll source the proper charger. If the phone damages so easily why isn't the charger more readily available?

I'm being penalised for not knowing that a different charger spoils the battery.

The more I rant about it, the more ludicrous it sounds.

Please supply me with your complaints process and details. If this is not resolved I'm taking it to an Ombudsman.
