Sad security and control of client data

What kind of secutiry are you providing when you ask you clients to give you this info via email??? I asked MTN for a tax certificate showing payments. I did this from the online protal where i have logged in. they send me this on email - who in their right mind would ever give this info to a 3rd party? We apologize for the delayed response and for any inconvenience incurred.
