I was looking for a new phone and received an advert from MTN where you can order a S23 and get a tablet, trade-in and e-care included in the deal. I went to the MTN store in Menlyn Maine on the 5th of March where a very rude person with a hat, not looking me in the eye, said that he does not know about the deal and refused to help me. He also said that they do not do trade-ins as they do not have a license. He refused to phone the Menlyn branch to hear if they could assist. I then went to Menlyn and they also did not recognise the deal and could not do trade-ins. I gave up and ordered it online on the 6th of March. After waiting a long time, the phone was delivered on the 16th of March – without the tablet that the lady said that it would be delivered with the phone. I specifically asked if the tablet was delivered with the phone and she said that it would be. I was out of town where there is no MTN shop so I could not do anything until I got to Pretoria on the 20th. On the 20th I went to the Menlyn shop again to see if they could assist, which they could not do once again. There was absolutely no documentation or communication on how to claim the tablet or even that you have to claim the tablet and that it would not be delivered. Nowhere on the MTN website is it mentioned. I tried to call MTN customer support and after the calls were cut a few times, they eventually put me through to Samsung help center. Samsung said that the deal has expired and I cannot claim any longer. I am extremely upset about the situation. I ordered the S23 and not the ultra on the basis that I would have access to the tablet. I have problems with my eyes and I cannot read the small print on the normal phone. The tablet would give me the luxury of sight being able to use the internet which I cannot do on the small phone. The trade-in promised could also not be delivered – unacceptable. How can you advertise and then not be able to deliver? I went to the Sandton branch today, she also didn’t know how to claim the tablet, but did give me the complaints email address. I have sent 2 emails to the complaints department. I still have not received any reply. I see that MTN does not respond to the posts on Hellopeter. so what now????
