Run away from online application with mtn.

On the 16th July 2020 I did a on line application for a router with mtn, which everything went okay on deal but hell started when I received my router after 7days.the person who assisted with purchasing the router give me a packet router with a home package which a packet router doesn't support it. I been told now I have two options to do a early cancelation which I will be paying R1560.20 or return the device back to mtn which will take a year to be sorted out and within that year I will be debited the money for it.im being ******ed for someone's mistake. Why I am paying for something that didn't use? Already I have spent so much with the inconvenience mtn has caused me and yet again I still have to pay. It was so fast selling me the wrong package but now it's hard to fix the mess they have caused me. ???
