Ruining lives
my experience with MTN has been sad. My contract ended last year August and just like any responsible citizen , I informed them beginning of Aug that I will not be renewing my contract and would like to cancel it and did so via email. Portia Majola responded on the 11/08/2023 requesting details which i provided on the 11/08/2023. Jabulisile Mkhize responded on the 16/08/2023 telling she tried contacting me but advised her that whenever she would call me it would cut. Connectivity issues. On the 18/08/2023 Nhlakanipho Ntanzi sent me a email telling me that I have an outstanding balance of R1569.02. which i queried as my monthly contract amount was around R750. I needed to understand why the would charge so much to cancel a contract that had come to an end. Paid all 24 months instalment and if there are cancellation fees why are they same as an instalment. I then got a response from Judy Naidoo on the 23/08/2023 advising that they tried contacting me.
Fast forward to 21 May 2024 I am told my account has been handed over to legal. No communication, nothing. I have asked for an explanation but dololo. I have been on the call with MTN agents and have been passed from pillar to post. No one can give me answers and they are not consistent with what they are saying. Now my credit score has been impacted and I was not made aware. The regulation says you should inform the person before you hand them over but MTN has done so without any communication.
