Rre: 16 days and Still No contract

So here I am again! MTN contacted me on Tuesday and apologized profusely and assured me that this would be sorted. The Regional Manager will get involved to ensure satisfactory resolution. The agent Adam called me on Tuesday - first insinuating that I cancelled the contract, to which I set him straight very quickly - why on earth would I go to the MTN store FOUR times for a contract I cancelled - who is that stupid any way? Be that as it may he assured me it will be sorted. I told him that I will NOT be returning to the store a 5th time, they can deliver the handset to me. He advised it will be couriered to me. On the same day I received an email advising me that the courier company will be in contact concerning delivery of the handset - fantastic I thought. That was Tuesday morning. I tried contacting Adam yesterday to let him know that I haven't heard anything regarding the courier company. I called the number he called me on but to no avail. I don't know what happened to 'keeping the customer informed'? It beats me - they messed up, promised to get the Regional Manager involved and yet not ONE person keeps you informed of the progress of your query. I can't reach Alice from MTN who assured that this will be sorted - her number too cannot be reached. In her defense, she passed it onto the Regional Manager whom one would assume will make this go away very quickly. So MTN, if you DO NOT want your customers to contact you, then can you please contact them! This continues to be a DISASTEROUS experience for me - you can't even redeem yourself properly. And I get that staff have to own up to their mistakes and be held accountable, I totally get that. But can the leadership of MTN please just show up! You're managing the store, managing the Region and yet not ONE member of the leadership team called me and took ownership of this disaster. I guess it's more fitting to say you are mismanaging the store, mismanaging the Region. In fact, how the store is managed or mismanaged in this case, and your lack of interest in this matter, is demonstrated in your very ABSENT leadership style - let the staff do the work, let the staff fix the problems. Not sure what the leadership is busy doing if problem solving, sales and customer retention isn't part of their key result areas. And may I add that I have been a customer of MTN since the inception of cell phones - you do the math! I guess the leadership wouldn't know that either because they had no real interest in this query. So, to the leadership of MTN Tygervalley in the Western Cape, I am STILL waiting for the handset. It would be fantastic if you showed up and took ownership of this problem. Your active engagement in the resolution of this SIMPLE matter would be appreciated. And do remember this: the effectiveness or ineffectiveness of your staff is a reflection on you. You have been equally ineffective in resolving this matter, so don't go hard on your staff if you cannot set the example. So don't blast your staff for lack of ownership as you have failed to show any ownership in this matter. It seems that the number has been ported and the contract activated as my son informed me that he received data. The prompt arrival of the handset would be appreciated.

Thank you.
