Royal mess trying to upgrade. MTN no customer service.
Its a pity that the lowest you can score MTN is one star and not half a star. MTN has been phoning me this whole week saying that my contract is due for upgrade. Today in my lunch time i decided to go to MTN Mall of Africa. I went there and said that i wanted to upgrade on the Samsung Note 10+. Firstly i chose the special where it showed that Note 10+ costs R999pm with a "R400 off any qualifying original accessories + Gaming controller Valued at R1299 + 2500 Fortnite v-Bucks". This i was told only applies for first 200 customers and that i would only c that once i've got the phone. No where did it show that in the booklet saying that its only for first 200 customers. Secondly we got stuck doing the upgrade when i had to do my finger prints. It kept on saying that the prints does not match the I.D. After 10 tries the lady that helped us said that its not going to work and that her Manager would have to override that step. The manager was off today and i then asked if they didnt have someone else and she said no that that manager was only one that could do it. After complaining she then phoned the manager and got him to override it. We then got to a page where it said that my account was handed over for collection because of it being in arrears. Only thing is the account was not in arrears and was paid up to date. So i could not get my upgrade because someone at MTN messed up. The lady then said to me that she had to send a mail and wait for accounts department to rectify the error. I then tried phoning MTN myself, Worst experience ever. Spoke to a lady with the name Makhumo Makgato that started raising her voice at me and was very unprofessional, I've been a loyal customer for 21 years and thats how you treat me?? How to you treat your new customers? Even after saying that im thinking of cancelling my contract no one even bothered trying to keep me as a customer. Just got a OK. Its time you guys wake up and know that without us (customers) you dont have anything .
