Robbing people when they want to close their account

<p>I have decided to cancel my MTN contract, as the service, signal etc is just useless. </p> <p>My contract is due to end at the end of November 2016, I contacted Mtn to find out how you go about canceling your contract and if I want to cancel now already what do I need to do. </p> <p>I received an email with amount of money that I still owe, it shows the value of the phone, the months you still need to pay off and then there is a handset fee that needs to be paid as well. When I saw this I was fuming, surely the handset fee, the cellphone and the contract is all part of your monthly installment. So I went to the MTN in fourways mall so that someone could explain this handset fee. </p> <p>Firstly the service representative could not explain the amounts to me or actually get to the amounts that were on the system. </p> <p>Then he proceeded to tell me that I still owe money on my device, which I don't understand as everything should be included in your contract monthly installments. </p> <p>Then he told me they charge this handset fee because you are leaving Mtn, but if you stayed that amount would be done away with. </p> <p>I asked him to show me the contract where I signed that I need to pay mtn a handset fee for leaving and he couldn't assist with that. </p> <p>Then finally after all of this, it finally came out that they are charging me a fee for canceling my contract. Seriously in what world is that aloud, it doesn't stipulate anything about paying a fee when you cancel your contract in any of the contract documents. </p> <p> </p> <p>I want to close my account and pay the months that are left over in my contract, but instead they want to rob you of extra money. This is insane. </p>
