I had a contract with MTN and it was ending in July 2015. On 20th August I received a phone call from MTN telling me about an upgrade. I told them that I was not interested and that I wanted to cancel my contract. They told me to call 808 to cancel the contract. I then called 808 and spoke to some lady who told me that it was going to take 5 - 7 days to cancel the contract and that they will call me to confirm everything.

Few minutes later I received an sms saying that my subscriber limit has been set to R0.00. This was on the 20 August 2015 and had just received my monthly R200 airtime and 150MB. Before I called 808 I had R184.00 air and some MB. After receiving the sms I checked my balance and it was R10.00. I had lost all the airtime and data and no one said anything about me losing that. Few days after I receive a statement saying that I must pay for the data and airtime that they took back. I went to MTN in Woodmead Retail Park and they told me its not their mistake, its the call centre mistake and there is nothing they can do and that they were supposed to tell me I will lose my airtime. This is not my mistake. I refuse to pay for airtime and data that I didn't use.
