Repairs or so called for that matter

Last Tuesday I took in my iPhone 6 to MTN canal walk to be repaired as I have a contract with them and the iPhone is not turning on and being just over 6 months old - unacceptable for an iPhone. I was told that they would send it in for repairs, it would take 5-7 working days and within that period I would receive a phone call from MTN telling me the quote of the repairs in the unlikely event the warranty was voided. 7 working days later and still no news from MTN. I then went into the canal walk branch to be told that the phone has been dispatched and not returned because the find my iPhone app was active and I must pay R330 to get my phone back and the warranty is voided because of a scratch. Number one - the employee should have informed me that the app must be switched off and secondly they could have called me in that period asking me to switch it off. I must now pay R330 and then send it back and pay for the repairs? I am leaving the country next week and this couldnt be more of an inconvenience. Customer service is disgusting and I dread everytime I walk into the store. Most importantly An iPhone does not stop working because of a scratch after 6 months.
