Rejection of phone repair request
I lodged a follow up and complaint on my cellphone unit, sent for repairs on 11/12/2014, service request # ***, for which I had not received any update for until March 2015.

After having waited this long for the unit to be returned, I was told that the SIM connector is damaged and therefore the unit can not be repaired.

The reason for taking the unit in for repairs was because it froze/hung and would not switch on or recharge. I had received an sms saying the device has been collected and is in transit to the repair centre, on 18 December 2014, after having handed it in a week earlier.

I am completely dissatisfied with the service provided as that was the last update I received from MTN and further on inquiry, I never got clear answers as to what the progress was regarding the device.

After querying continuously, I was informed that the device SIM connector is damaged, from which I had never removed the SIM card ever since I received the device and it was removed by the employees of MTN when I took the device for repairs.

The repairer is demanding R300.00 handling fee for a device that is declared beyond repair.
