REFUSING TO BLACKLIST ****** PHONE

I called the MTN call centre today to get them to blacklist my cellphone that was ****** on 18 March 2017. The first lady, Joy, was explained what it was all about, but refused to assist stating that a dual-sim phone only has one IMEI number.

I requested to speak to her manager as I could clearly gauge that I would get no joy from her. Her manager Thapelo, told me exactly the same thing that she told me. After much discussion and revealing the number currently in use in the phone, as well as supplying him with the IMEI number, he still refused to blacklist my phone. He then looked online and actually saw that Dual-sim phones have 2 IMEI numbers but still refused.

It seems that encouraging ****** phones to be used on your network is becoming the norm. You can't blacklist your phone even though it is ******. The ******* can just replace the sim and away they go.

No wonder the country is going down the tubes. If a serious crime is committed using that phone, who is to blame? Will I be held accountable? How can I be held accountable for MTN condoning the use of ****** phones?

I gave them the number currently in use on my phone but to no avail.

I was told to go to a walk-in centre and show them box to prove that the phone really has two IMEI numbers and they can assist.

It would seem that we are concerned with recent events in the country, but we act no better. What happened to customer service? Going the Extra Mile. Incompetence in call-centres has no limit.

Regards
