Refused a contract due to past MTN ***** up

I have been trying take over my previous company’s cell phone contract since August 2016, every time I do the application it is declined, after several attempts and several declines with no reason, today for the first time I was told why.... I cannot get a contract with MTN because of an account from 2009 that is with MTN legal.

In 2009 I was being charged amounts ranging from R200 to R1000 for a R85 Top-up 50 contract, after months of enquiries and eventually harassing phone calls from VVM attorney's demanding over R7000, I was told the matter was with MTN legal and never heard anything again till now. in fact after all the invoices I paid on this contract MTN owes me money and not me them.

I do not have a poor credit rating and I am not blacklisted and can get contracts with all the other service providers, I just don’t see why I must cancel my contracts and pay huge cancelation fees in order to port to another service provider.

I do not think it fair that due to an MTN error in 2009 that I am being punished. I have spoken to a dozen call centre agents that cannot help and trying to get hold of MTN legal is impossible.

I need these contracts changed into my name is there anyone at MTN legal that has the ability and will power to do their job and sort out this mess out.
