Refusal to provide a reference number to a call

2. Queries

1 Is it permissible that a call centre agent irrespective of the call content refuses to provide a reference number?
2 Why does 809 kick me out on option 0 immediately. Please can someone check my number if there was anything placed to block my number. 809 was called at 3.18PM 19 November 2015. I experienced this in the recent past.

I have a serious query and I cant get through to 809 as 808 - Urika cannot assist in escalating my query to 809.

There is ******** risk at a concern that was brought to me. I need to know if either of my MTN numbers, a pay as you go and a corporate contract line through Momentum/Metropolitan has had any duplicate sim cards processed in the last year. I was in the past offered the service and as such have to escalate this to ensure MTN as a service provider is used for any ******** activities. Please can someone call me to check up on this so that I can provide more detail.

Failing a response I undertstand that MTN will take all the risks of overlooking this concern.

Hello maheshde,

We are sorry for any inconvenience caused and for the breakdown in service experienced.

In reponse to your first query, we can confirm that your number has not been blocked in anyway. Your number is registered as corporate consumer and our entire customer service team (call centres) are now able to assist you. We will suggest that you send an e-mail to *** and the matter will be addressed accordingly.

In response to your second query, the only way that someone else can use your SIM card is by processing a SIM swap without your consent and we can confirm that there has been no such be done by anyone other than yourself. If you believe that someone is **********ly trying to access your private & confidential information you will need to report the matter to the SAPS and send us an e-mail to *** to assist you accordingly.

Once again we do apologize for any inconvenience caused.

Regards
Tim
