Refusal to assist me within business hours.

I am appaulled by the way a staff member in Khayelitsha mall treated me. I was rudly turned away at 16:30 in the name of we are closed according to her and that she reserves the right to accept who she can serve.

Through the windows I asked her what time does the store close as she refused me entry and service this past Monday the 3rd of February

After leaving work early in effort of seeking a Sim swop I stood my ground and politely demanded service, 15 minutes later after yelling at me in front of a friend of hers who came to collect a personal package she finally decided to condescendingly speak to me at16:45.

She advised me that I should get a certified ID copy, I quickly made my way to the nearest police station and certified my copy and promptly made my way back to the store at 16:55.

Apone my arrival she advised me that the store is out of Sim cards and that I should go to Ackerman store for a MTN Sim card.

Before I comp**** and I left the documents and R60 for the service with her whilst she was busy cashing up.

I asked my friend to wait outside the MTN store while I went to Ackerman store to que.

fortunately I manged purchase the Sim only to be met by my friend when I was walkingback to the MTN STORE.

With him he had my SA ID card, certified ID copy, police affidavit and R60 cah in hand, with a message from the lady saying that he was turned away because they were closed and that I should come back the following day.

1. Does the POPI act permit a MTN representative to hand over private documents containing my personal information to a 3rd party?

2. What time does the store open and close?

3. Is it MTN's policy for a store representive to reserve the right to who can be served or not, no matter if your a MTN subscriber or not?

Please be advised that I plan to take this matter further because my rights as a consumer have been grosely violated
