RECYCLED NUMBER - CANT FIND ACCOUNT #

I was handed over to my debt review to pay for a contract, I took out with MTN, but failed to pay. I paid my fees religiously for 2 and half years. I decided to ask for a balance, and I was told - the account no longer exists and I can stop paying. I'm trying to find out when the number was recycled and where has my money being allocated for the last 2 years? Why was I only told now, when I queried? Why won't anyone get back to me? Reference number: A*** AND A***?.

Hello Tray003,

We are truly sorry for the inconvenience caused and for the breakdown in service experiencced.

We can confirm that once your number has been deactivated due to non payment received by our Legal Department and the account remains deactivated for more than 3 months, the line is then automatically recycled by the network.

We've also now searched our system with your ID number and we can confirm that we only have account number A*** registered on our system.

We have now escalated the matter to our Legal Department to assist you with the number being recycled and with the payments you've made for the account having been in arrears.

Regards
Tim
