Recycled my number after i requested a number reactivation (Horrible service)

<p>After a long battle with MTN, i called them to have my number Reactivated from the legal department as it still had a record that it belongs to me. I went back and forth with them untill the legal side confirmed to have activated the number. I then requested MTN to convert the line from contract to prepaid which days later they did. </p> <p>Per advise that i got from an MTN agernt, i purchased a MTN sim and called in to make a SIM swap only to be advised that my number has been recycled. Have proof of all communications and references.</p> <p>My Question is, how is it possible that after so many days of requesting my line to be reactivated from the legal department, retentions and helpline my number gets recycled to someone else?? Was this the plan all this time, besides me asking that the number be converted to Prepaid?? Was it going to be recycled on the same date or just a coincident? How is that even possible?? Why was I not informed of this possibility all along so that I don’t even bother??</p> <p> </p>
