Quotation of R4000 for a phone

Ii bought a Samsung A14 last year since it had 24 months warranty it had no problem until it totally switched off when ii went to the pep store they told me it might be a physical damage which might be either it fell into water or ii use it while it's charging which is it has never fell into water then they Took it and said ii must check it after 6 weeks it's even 8 Weeke now then ii decide to call the complain customer care then they said ii must pay a quotation of R4000 so my phone may be fixed which is weird because ii never even bought that phone by R4000 I'm so fed up now because ii had to do some of the things that are not backed up
