Querry on the Term of Contract with MTN
Around April 2016 I signed for a two year small business contract (or so I thought) with MTN Kokstad. I checked with the store sometime last month since was of the view that my contract was nearing expiry then. Was shocked beyond speech when the consultant advised that my contract was only expiring in April 2019 since their system showed that I signed up a 36 months contract. I asked for the actual copy of the contract which they failed to produce after numerous stories were given to me. Resorted to contacting MTN on 135 on the 28th May 2018. I spoke to a consultant by the name of Zanele Mapoma. After first maintaining that my contract was for 36 months, she checked my previous upgrades on the system and other stuff and she concurred with me in that the correct end date for the contract was the 22nd April 2018. Indicated to the consultant that would be terminating my liaison with them the next Monday since there was no was way they would force me to give them notice for their own ineptitude. She asked me to call during the week in securing a copy of the contract. Was advised to send in an email of my intention to terminate the non-existent contract which I promptly did. On calling the following Monday, 30 April was assisted (if that can be referred as such) by Ms Fazlyn Hendricks who maintained at all costs that the contract I have with MTN is only ending next year April. I referred to the discussion I had with Ms Mapoma the previous Saturday in vain and ended the call with her promising that her supervisor was gonna call me before the end of business Monday. The said supervisor not called me nor I have gotten any copy of the contract the main thing that is continuing is that my account is being debited without by MTN. I asked the consultant I spoke to on Monday that can't we simplify matters by establishing the given term for the contract I entered into taking into account the device I got, the amount of minutes and accompanying package stuff versus the amount I am billed on a monthly basis. I am so enough with the pathetic service I am getting from MTN and would be mad really if would continue with them even if they are successful in their desperate attempts of tying me to a ********** contract (proven by their failure to produce one) till next year. I expect MTN to resolve this matter promptly as I want out based on the call I had on the 28 April 2018. They should seek assistance from the said consultant and should they resort tricks again will be compelled to take the matter up and they will have to produce the audio recording of the said call.
